Wigmore Arcade was built as a compact row of commercial property in 1929 in the centre of Ballina, which was subsequently gifted to the Council. In 1967 it was enlarged to include an internal arcade to connect the main street frontage with the substantial Tamar Street carpark and public transport hub to the rear. Further refurbishment was undertaken in the 1990s to upgrade this 60s connection, providing a covered walkway to the public transport hub, which is the largest in Ballina.
Alstonville Tiles & Floorcoverings were engaged to supply and install slip resistant vitrified ceramic floor tiles to the arcade thoroughfare and also for the male and female amenities.
